Study Abroad
The College of Criminal Justice strongly encourages students to take advantage of the excellent study abroad programs offered through Northeastern University. Studying abroad gives students an opportunity to learn about themselves, experience other cultures, practice language skills, develop better communication skills and incorporate classroom knowledge into real life experiences.
Criminal Justice majors may take up to two Criminal Justice open electives while studying abroad. Any additional coursework would count towards fulfilling liberal arts requirements or non-CJ open electives. It is important that students meet with their Academic Advisor prior to studying abroad. This will ensure that all curriculum requirements are taken into consideration when selecting courses to take overseas.
Students have a variety of options to choose from when studying abroad.
The College of Criminal Justice hosts an exchange program with The Faculty of Law at Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. Boasting a legal system that draws elements from many European legal traditions, the Netherlands provides the perfect environment to become acquainted with the characteristics of internationally complex legal systems. Courses are taught in either English or Dutch.
