Sample Program
For Students entering PhD program with a Masters Degree
Students entering the PhD program with a Masters of Science Degree, a Masters of Arts Degree, or a Juris Doctorate will generally be required to complete 32 additional semester hours of course work. These students will be required to take Criminology and Public Policy 1, Criminology and Public Policy 2, Multivariate Analysis, Evaluation Methods, Advanced Data Analysis, 5 elective courses and two practicum courses. Often students entering with a graduate degree will also be required to take a small number of Masters level courses to prepare them for PhD courses listed above. For example, a student entering with a JD may not have had a statistics course since their undergraduate education. In these cases, the Admissions Committee may recommend that students take the Masters Level Statistic course prior to enrolling in the required Multivariate Statistics course.
