GRADUATE PROGRAMSGraduate AssistantshipsEach year, a limited number of stipended graduate assistantships are available for entering graduate students. These positions carry a full or partial tuition waiver in addition to which students receive a full or partial stipend. A stipend for the academic year is awarded over a three semester period as payment for the performance of assigned duties, including counseling students and assisting faculty in course preparation, grading, and research, not exceeding twenty hours per week of service to the College.Graduate Awards are available only to full-time students selected on the basis of academic achievement and professional background. The deadline for applications for graduate awards for the coming academic year in the Graduate School of Criminal Justice is March 31st. Applications received after this date will be considered contingent upon the availability of funds. In addition, there are often a limited number of research assistantships available through the Center for Criminal Justice Policy Research and the Institute on Race and Justice. These are awarded to qualified students through a competitive process. Students interested in these positions will be considered through the same application procedure for graduate awards.
