Background:
Professor Singer's research focuses on delinquency and juvenile justice. He received the Albert J. Reiss Distinguished Scholar Award from the American Sociological Association for his book "Recriminalizing Delinquency: Violent Juvenile Crime and Juvenile Justice Reform" (Cambridge University Press, 1996). His current research is on suburban crime and delinquency. He has been awarded grants from the National Institute of Justice and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Currently, he is looking at the life course of juveniles incarcerated into adulthood.
